Watch this video from BuzzFeedVideo to see the evolution of female beauty from plump, full-bodied ideals of Ancient Greece and the ample bosoms, rounded stomachs and full hips of Italian Ranaissance, via the visibly thinner beauty standards of the more recent Roaring Twenties and Swinging Sixties, all the way to our Postmodern Beauty. Is the goal of being “healthy skinny” with a flat stomach, large breasts & butt, and a thigh gap – obtained by many through plastic surgery – something we should really aspire to?
